Greg Kessel is a lifelong North Dakotan, farmer, and conservative leader proudly representing District 39 in the North Dakota State Senate. Based in Belfield, he brings a strong understanding of the people, industries, and values that define western North Dakota.

Kessel was elected to the State Senate in 2022 and quickly established himself as a steady, practical voice for rural communities. As a working farmer, he understands firsthand the challenges facing agriculture, landowners, and small-town economies. That experience drives his focus on protecting property rights, supporting agriculture, and ensuring responsible development of North Dakota's energy resources.

In the Legislature, Kessel serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and is a member of the Industry and Business Committee. In these roles, he works on policies impacting energy production, economic development, and the long-term strength of North Dakota's economy. He has been a consistent advocate for maintaining a strong energy sector while balancing the needs of landowners and local communities.

Kessel is known for his common-sense approach to governing, focusing on practical solutions rather than politics. He is a strong supporter of conservative values, including limited government, fiscal responsibility, and protecting individual rights. He also places a high priority on ensuring western North Dakota has a strong and effective voice in Bismarck.
